Our 2025/26 season saw the club field teams in Division 2 and Division 4, with plenty to be proud of across both sides.
Our Division 2 side welcomed a number of new young players to the club, largely thanks to Sunil Paul, and we also had returning players who helped guide the group through what turned out to be a disappointing season. The campaign was heavily disrupted early, with five of our first six games washed out, and we were unfortunately unable to secure a win for the remainder of the season. Despite this, the boys kept showing up every week and putting in the effort, so for that, well done to all involved. A big thank you to Sunil Paul, Sakshm Pathania and Kyle Oppelaar for sharing the captaincy duties and providing much needed support throughout the year.
Our Division 4 side was taken over and captained by Adi Shah, along with a cohort of players from last year’s Division 3 team, who made a semi-final. They produced a wonderful season in Division 4, finishing on top of the ladder and earning a spot in the grand final against Old Wesley. Unfortunately, we fell short on the day, going down by 30 runs. Congratulations to the entire group on yet another terrific season for the club and well done to Adi for leading the side so strongly all the way to a grand final. The core group within this side has been such a big part of our club for a long time, and we’re very grateful to have them playing with us every year!
There were some fantastic individual performances recognised this season. In Division 2, Sakshm Pathania claimed the batting award, while Joshua Sunil took home the bowling award. In Division 4, Vishal Brahmbhatt topped the runs again to win the batting award for the second year running, and Kavish Vora was our leading wicket-taker and Division 4 bowling award winner. To cap it off, both Vishal and Kavish were honoured by the MCC competition, with Kavish being crowned Best Player in Division 4 and Vishal winning best batsman. They’ve also both earned selection in the Division 4 Team of the Year. Congratulations to all our award winners.
We now look ahead to the 26/27 season, with a focus on continuing to build our relationships with our affiliate partners and the School. We’re hopeful that we can build on the positives from this year and keep pushing for premiership success.
I would like to thank our committee for all their hard work. Without your dedication, we wouldn’t be able to play each week. I’d also like to thank our major sponsor SCM Finance Group and the Caulfield Grammarians’ Association and their committee for their continued support.
We are always looking for further involvement from Grammarians, so if you are interested in playing or being involved in any way, please contact Cameron Scholten at cscholten88@gmail.com or 0412 283 630.
