A Toast to History: Pop the Cork

Members of the 1881 Bequest Society, comprising members of our community who have chosen to leave a gift to Caulfield Grammar School in their Will, recently gathered in the Heritage Room for “Pop the Cork” – The History of Champagne.

Guests included Grammarians, past and current parents, former staff and Shelfordians. The afternoon provided an opportunity to reconnect, share memories and celebrate the collective legacy being created through planned giving in support of future generations of students.

The event featured an engaging presentation by Kenneth Park, renowned lecturer, curator and philanthropy consultant, who explored the fascinating history and traditions of champagne with his trademark blend of insight and humour.

Following the presentation, guests enjoyed the opportunity to continue conversations over a glass of bubbly and refreshments.

For many alumni, a gift in their Will is a meaningful way to honour the experiences, friendships and opportunities that shaped their lives at Caulfield Grammar School, while helping ensure future generations can benefit from the same transformative education.

The Society warmly thanks Kenneth Park and all who attended.
