CGA – Community News – February 2026

Welcome to the February 2026 CGA – Community News, where we celebrate the achievements, milestones, and stories of our vibrant community. 1/ Pip Mitchell (Class of 1997)

Pip Mitchell was recently appointed as a Judge of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2).

This is a significant milestone in Pip’s career, and her appointment as a Judge is a testament to her commitment to excellence, integrity, and public service. Read more here

2/ Michael Kennedy (Class of 1989)

Michael Kennedy is finishing up as the CEO of Ski and Snowboard Australia, serving for over twenty years. Read more here

3/ Dr Natasha Brusco (nee Johansen) (Class of 1993)

Associate Professor Natasha Brusco was honoured at the Sir John Monash Awards, receiving both ‘2025 Volunteer of the Year’ and the prestigious ‘2025 Sir John Monash Award for Outstanding Leadership’ for her pioneering George’s Gymnastics Program. This innovative program provides free, inclusive gymnastics to more than 200 children with disabilities across seven specialist schools. As Director of the Rehabilitation, Ageing and Independent Living Research Centre at Monash University, Natasha also facilitated Monash physiotherapy students to support this inspiring program, fostering hands-on experience working with children with special needs and shaping the next generation of inclusive health professionals.

3/ Thabojan Rasiah (class of 1997)

Thabojan Rasiah (class of 1997) and his team were finalists in six categories at the 2025 Independent Financial Adviser Excellence Awards. They were also finalists in four categories at the 2025 SMSF Awards, where Thabojan was named the SMSF Investment Strategist of the Year.  Thabojan is the Principal Financial Adviser and Founder of Rasiah Private Wealth Management.

4/ Tony Clark (Class of 1991)

Alumni Tony Clark continues to set a global benchmark for humanitarian design. His charity, Backpack Bed for Homeless, recently secured several prestigious accolades including wins at the European Product Design Awards and the coveted Good Design Awards held in both Australia and the USA. It is also shortlisted for the famous European IF Awards and the USA Edison Award.

These honours recognise his new fit-for-purpose, fire-retardant, life-saving Backpack Bed design which Tony’s charity provides to unsheltered homeless people across 8 countries, distributed via 1,100+ global agencies.

Tony’s designs have been acquired by four museums including Paris, Germany, Italy and Sydney. To date, Tony has achieved 17 international product design awards including the most globally prestigious Red Dot ‘Best of the Best’.

Tony remains dedicated to ensuring that expert design translates into dignity and safety for those sleeping on our streets.

5/ David Law (Class of 1973)

David Law wrote a story, “Bridge & Bridges”. The article is not to promote the delights of the game or explain how it is played, but a personal memoir on tournaments held in cities with iconic bridges. Read more here
