Form parties and special celebrations: 1960s.
When we reflect on our school days generally the memories are filled with classroom learning and often hours spent travelling and doing homework. Yet occasionally there were special events held after school such as a birthday party or a class gathering.
Mark Bowman recently donated some digital scans of a party hosted by his parents to mark the retirement of Miss Esme Warriner (Mrs Lobb) in 1968. Miss Warriner was on the staff of the junior section of Caulfield Grammar at Shaw House, Mayfield St, East St Kilda for around 25 years and for 12 years was the headmistress. The casual images show a smiling Miss Warriner and a happy atmosphere.

Another teacher, Mr Don Wirth (Staff 1947-1977) often hosted a class party at his home. Seen in this photograph are his 1963 class watching as some play on a home-made ‘see-saw’. Can you help identify the names of the students?. See contact details below.
