Every student who completed her schooling at Shelford is automatically a Shelfordian.
2026 Events
On Tuesday, 24 February, many Shelfordians joined with CGA to attend the bi-annual Golden Alumni Society Luncheon at Quat Quatta. FYI – All Shelfordians from the cohorts of 1976 and older are automatically invited (ie those who are at least 50-year veterans).
It was a great event and so nice to catch up with some Caulfield Grammarians that we all knew ‘back in the day’!

Last Friday night, we celebrated the Year of 2016 at the Brix Bar. There was plenty of laughter and excitement as everyone reconnected, and before long the room was buzzing with chatter. Shelford memorabilia and Year 7 photos sparked nostalgia and plenty of giggles. What a bright, confident group these Shelford women are!
On opening night, the Shelford Alumnae gathered for the premiere screening of The Devil Wears Prada 2, filling one of the theatres at the Palace Brighton (formerly the Dendy Brighton).
Guests enjoyed canapés and drinks beforehand, and it was wonderful to see such a broad mix of generations coming together for the evening. The sequel was stylish, witty and just as entertaining 20 years on — much like the Alumnae themselves!
It was an evening of much fun, laughter and memories. The teachers talked about classes and students that they remembered in particular- for good and bad!
We had a range of teachers from the 1970s all the way to the 2020s.
Marcia Coughlan won the prize for being the longest serving and much loved Shelford teacher for 34 years!
Our own Chris Riley (on the Alumnae Committee) was on staff for 34 years as a teacher, bus driver and sports coach. She also has generational connections with Shelford as her mother, sisters and nieces all attended Shelford.
It was also interesting to hear which schools the teachers went to after leaving Shelford, what new careers they entered or how retirement is treating them.
The common factor was the deep affection for the School.
