Welcome to 2026 and 145th Year of Caulfield Grammar School!
And so, Term 1 commences. Last week Caulfield Campus students gathered for the 145th commencement assembly held in the Lindsay Thompson Gymnasium. The Year 12 Co-captains welcomed all students and staff, and the Year 12 School Committee received their badges.
That same day class photographs were taken ensuring a level of organised chaos!
Yesterday I visited a Year 7 class to share school history. After a PowerPoint of photographs, some items of memorabilia were passed around such as school caps, a handwritten academic report from the 1920s, an Old Boys striped blazer and a AGS Pocket Diary, 1921. What a milestone – 145 years of learning and offering boarding. I wonder if our founder, Joseph Henry Davies imagined his school reaching 145 years and becoming co-educational.
