1881 Bequest Society March & April 2026 events

We are delighted to invite members of the Society and guests to enjoy two special privately guided experiences this autumn.

Tour of Old Treasury Building

A private guided tour of the Old Treasury Building on Thursday the 5th of March followed by an optional lunch at the Bank on Collins Ground Floor, 349 Collins Street, Melbourne.

Widely regarded as one of Melbourne’s finest 19th-century buildings, the Old Treasury Building is a magnificent example of gold rush architecture. Designed by J.J. Clark and completed in 1862, it now serves as a museum showcasing Melbourne’s rich history and heritage.

Tour of Shelford
A private guided tour of Shelford on Wednesday the 1st of April with Sarah Salter Deputy Principal- Head of the Shelford Campus followed by morning tea and traditional hot cross buns in the Helenslea Board Room.

Experience the welcoming atmosphere of Shelford’s beautifully maintained campus where heritage buildings blend seamlessly with modern learning spaces and learn about the future plans. This will be followed by a guided visit to the serene and historic St Mary’s Church the original site of the school that became Shelford Girls Grammar, known for its elegant architecture and tranquil grounds.
