Job Description
As a member of the Associated Public Schools (APS) and Associated Grammar Schools of Victoria (AGSV), we are seeking an experienced coach to inspire our students to dream more and learn more in Water Polo.
The role of every sports coach, including our First Team coaches, is to deliver a great sports experience for our students, ensuring that Caulfield Grammar School values, policies and procedures are applied effectively through all training sessions and game day situations. First Coaches report directly to the Head of Coaching & Performance while working closely with the Heads of Sport and casual Sport Coaches to ensure quality learning in sport.
We have a casual opportunity managing the Caulfield Grammar School Boys First Team. This initial engagement will start as soon as possible with training days on Tuesdays (1pm – 4pm) and Thursdays (3.30pm – 6pm). Fixtures usually take place on Friday nights or Saturday mornings, 2 games per weekend, 10 fixtures across a 6-week season.
Key Duties
- Attend all training and fixture commitments, with the potential for pre-season and holiday training.
- Assist in the planning of the training and competition program in conjunction with the Head of Water Polo
- Develop technical skill, fitness, teamwork and leadership capabilities for all students
- Assist with the development of camp training plans and supervision (if required)
- Provide performance feedback and analysis to students while also supporting other senior teams as required
- Provide equitable opportunities to students to achieve their highest potential during the season and demonstrate their capacity and progress on merit
- Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours.
Selection Criteria
- Availability for training session requirements
- Tuesdays – 1pm – 4pm
- Thursday afternoons – 3.30pm – 6pm
- Friday afternoons/evenings or Saturday Mornings – depending on fixtures
- Must be willing to travel across campuses, fixtures and venues
- Ability to implement a structured programme for students
- Experience coaching junior athletes is desirable.
- Coaching accreditation and relevant experience at Secondary School level or in Community Sport
- Valid WPV/WPA coaching accreditation or equivalent is desirable
- Hold a current or willing to obtain an Employment Working With Children Check.
