Job Description
The Receptionist will create a positive first impression for parents, students, staff, and visitors, with a welcoming and engaging environment, clear communication, and personalized interactions.
As the first point of contact for visitors, parents, students and staff, the role requires a professional and welcoming demeanor, strong communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
Reporting directly to the Office Manager, the Receptionist will ensure positive first impressions and will be an essential part of the Administration Team.
This opportunity will be a permanent, part-time role, working across 5 days a week during the morning shift (7.45am – 1.30pm) and requires the ability to be flexible with working arrangements and be able to cover other shifts as needed.
Key Duties
- Greet and assist visitors, parents and students in a warm and professional manner.
- Answer and manage phone calls, emails and other correspondence, directing them to the appropriate departments.
- Manage meeting room bookings for staff and visitors.
- Ensure smooth operation of the Reception area, maintaining a clean, organized and secure environment.
- Assist with student attendance and other administrative tasks as directed by the Office Manager.
- Handle confidential information with discretion and in accordance with CGS policies.
- Provide flexibility to cover afternoon Reception if required, ensuring consistent coverage.

Skills and Experience
- Previous reception or administration experience, ideally in a school or similar environment.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to connect and interact with people from various diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and school management software (training will be provided if necessary).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A friendly and approachable demeanor, with a positive attitude.
- Hold or willing to obtain an Employment Working with Children Check
