The Role   

Caulfield Grammar Middle School (Wheelers Hill Campus) is seeking articulate, self-motivated, creative and compassionate pre-service teachers to join our Middle School Learning Tutor Program. Working under the direction of classroom teacher/s, Learning Tutors support student/s with specific needs in accessing curriculum and daily classroom opportunities. 

Key Duties 

• To provide targeted learning support in the classroom to select students in Year 9 
• Conduct small-group tutoring sessions, running concurrently with Maths and English classes and for our EAL students 
• Deliver pre-prepared materials under the guidance of the Learning Area Leader 
• Work with the LAL to ensure continuity in teaching strategies and skill development 
• Record student progress 
• Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours. 

Skills and Experience  

• Have good interpersonal and communication skills and able to work in a team environment 
• Previous experience working in a school or education setting would be advantageous 
• Previous experience tutoring English or Math 
• Undertaking current studies in the field of Education 
• Hold or willing to obtain an Employment Working With Children Check or provisional VIT Registration
