Job Description

In 2021 the school commenced a partnered initiative with Traditional Owners to provided middle school students with extended, residential expeditions across the Northern Territory, broadening students’ experiences beyond the conventional routines of family and school life. So too their connection to country.  

Based remotely in the township of Jabiru, the Kakadu Program Teachers and Specialists will be residential educators that support the School’s Kakadu Program to the Northern Territory, developing and designing innovative curriculums. This includes outdoor learning and activities such as hiking and camp outs. 

Kakadu Program Teachers and Specialists are required to work to the needs of the students as required in a dynamic working environment. Accommodation and meals onsite are provided. Opportunities for travel and lifestyle are available, around the requirements of the role. 

As we prepare to take on new adventures in 2026, we have multiple opportunities available: 

  • Permanent, Full Time, Teachers with VIT/NT registration 
  • Permanent, Full Time, Outdoor Education Specialists with Outdoor qualifications 

Key responsibilities:  

  • Observe and monitor student learning, wellbeing and development throughout the program while maintaining proactive and reactive communication with parents  
  • Provide opportunities for student leadership and responsibility within the programme, encouraging a spirit of excellence, responsibility, and cooperation within the group.  
  • Liaise and maintain communication with the Kakadu Program Leadership Group, on the well-being of students, staff, and other changes to daily site situations 
  • Promote positive and professional relationships between Caulfield Grammar School and local communities promoting cultural sensitivity when engaging with community groups.  
  • Be committed to providing a safe physical and emotional environment where students are respected and treated with dignity in an appropriate professional and caring manner.  
  • Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours
