Job Description
At Caulfield Grammar School our purpose is to “enable quality learning every day in every experience for every learner, for life” and our Sports program is an integral component to achieving this. As a member of the Associated Public Schools (APS) and participant in the Associated Grammar Schools Victoria (AGSV) competition, we are looking for Head Coaches to lead various sports programs.
The role of Head Coach is to deliver a great sports experience for our students, ensuring that Caulfield Grammar School (CGS) values, policies and procedures are applied effectively through all training sessions and game day situations.
We have multiple fixed term part-time opportunities, starting at the end of October for the duration of the Sports Season (approx. 26 weeks):
- Head Coach of Badminton
- Head Coach of Diving
- Head Coach of Softball
The Head Coach will manage a coaching program for their sport, which will provide participation opportunities for all students, maximising skill development, fitness and teamwork.
Key Duties
- Contribute to the development and implementation of a program that is inclusive and provides equal opportunities for all year levels and abilities
- Establish clear performance goals and objectives for the relevant CGS Sport program
- Explore, present and deliver strategies to further promote and strengthen the relevant sport through both internal and external opportunities
- Lead training sessions on a Tuesday during the school day (typically between 11am & 3:30pm), Thursday afternoons and Saturday for competitions during term time, along with allocated time during the week for overall program administration
- Oversee team and player development and ensure that coaches conduct selections in accordance with CGS Selection Policy guidelines and communication with students is timely and appropriate
- Manage and oversee a coaching team
- Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviour
Skills and Experience
- Experience coaching and managing a Coaching program, preferably at Secondary School and or in Community Sport.
- Be self-motivated, well organised and can work within a team environment with a range of stakeholders
- Hold a Coaching Accreditation and be passionate and enthusiastic to coach, mentor, and be a positive role model for our students
- Have a Victorian employment Working with Children Check, Level 1 First Aid and Anaphylaxis Certification or be prepared to obtain these
