Job Description

The Application Analyst supports staff, students, and parents by collaborating with internal Level 1 IT teams to assist with resolving any technical issues with the school’s key software platforms and applications. 

This is a high volume, fast-paced environment and the Application Analyst will be the escalation point for the helpdesk and provide application support for Caulfield Grammar School’s enterprise applications and database systems.  

This position also focuses on data management, reporting and requires exceptional data manipulation abilities using a number of Microsoft applications including PowerBI, Excel and Azure SQL 

As a valued member of the Information Technology Department, you will share your expertise in technologies and help the wider School Community utilise IT solutions. This is a 12-month fixed term opportunity that requires regular travel between our Caulfield, Malvern and Wheelers Hill Campuses. 

Key Duties 

  • Resolve tickets within a fast-paced environment, provide troubleshooting and technical support remotely, one-on-one or via phone/email/web-based IT ticketing system 
  • Provide support to staff, students and parents for the school’s key software applications and data reporting tools 
  • Extract and analyse data and present it into a required formatting 
  • Act as a liaison between users and the L2 support team and/or third-party support partners during escalations 
  • Identify and respond to monitoring system alerts  
  • Identifying key support ticket themes and escalating these to the appropriate contact 
  • Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours. 

Skills and Experience  

  • Experience in technical support position using enterprise applications such as school management systems, customer relationship and learning management platforms. 
  • Prior experience supporting applications on Mac and Windows devices across high volumes 
  • Experience using ITIL ticketing systems, processes and database management with MYSQL, MSSQL including report writing and PowerBI, Azure Entra platform, Microsoft 365, Sharepoint and SaaS(Cloud) systems 
  • Have a customer first attitude and working towards one ICT model service   
  • Demonstrated experience in software incident management and problem management including investigation, resolution, and communication 
  • Hold or willing to obtain an Employment Working With Children Check.
