We are seeking a dynamic and caring Learning Assistant to join our Learning Strategies Team at the Wheelers Hill Campus of Caulfield Grammar School.  

This is a full-time, 4-week fixed term opportunity from the 25 August – 19 September 2025, working as part of a supportive and collegial team. Under the direction of classroom teachers, you will provide support to students with specific needs by accessing curriculum and daily classroom opportunities.  

A key part of your role will be assisting classroom teachers to plan, resource and implement quality educational programmes tailored to support the individual student needs. As a valued member of our team, you will be part of making a real difference by positively impacting student experience and contributing to our school community.  

Key duties 

• Assist teachers in the development and implementation of quality educational programmes. 
• Work co-operatively with teachers to ensure continuity in teaching strategies, methods of discipline and ways of working with individual children 
• Maintain appropriate discretion when liaising with School parents. 
• Maintain written documentation on student learning as required. 
• Contribute positively to the wider team and school environment. 
• Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours.  

Skills and experience 

• Demonstrated experience supporting students with specific learning needs 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
• Self-motivated, friendly, approachable, shows initiative and is organised 
• Able to prioritise and ensure work tasks are completed in a timely manner and to the expected standard 
• School based experience would be of significant advantage 
• Minimum Certificate III in related field 
• Current or be willing to obtain an Employment Working With Children Check
