Through consultation with our leadership and the School, and ongoing monitoring of COVID-19 reports and forecasts from the World Health Organization, the CGA has made the difficult decision to postpone the following face-to-face events:
- Founder’s Day Dinner – Friday 1 May
- Class of 1995 25-Year Reunion – Friday 22 May
- CGA AGM – Monday 25 May
- Class of 2010 10-Year Reunion – Friday 12 June
While some of these events are quite a way off, our eight week lead in time for event planning means that we need to make the call now. We also anticipate significant attendance of over 100 guests at several of these events. With the government’s current restrictions on gatherings, interstate travel, and advice around social distancing, we are unable to run them at this time.
At the moment our hope is to reschedule these events later in the year to minimise disruption. We will be in touch to confirm new dates if and when this is possible. We will continue to assess the situation as it progresses and will investigate the viability of our July and August events in late May. We will keep you informed of any further changes.
While postponing our events for the next three months may be disappointing, it also gives us a meaningful window in which to adapt our approach to program delivery. We look forward to taking on the challenges involved in providing connection and fellowship to our alumni throughout this period.
